Servant Evangelism

Eastern Baptist Association recently acquired some "Blow Up" resources that we will be using as part of our Servant evangelism events. Click HERE to see what we have to use!

The Power of Kindness

Servant Evangelism connects people to people in a natural, easy, low-risk, high grace way.

Who doesn't like to be given a cold Coke on a hot day? Especially by someone who is smiling, happy and having fun.

Servant Evangelism wins the heart before it confronts the mind. A small act of kindness nudges a person closer to God, often in a profound way as it bypasses ones mental defenses. The average Christian is willing to hand a stranger a can of cold Coke on a hot day (low risk). The high grace is seen in the typical reaction. "Oh, thank you!" "This is so nice!" "I can't believe this is for free!" And, "Why are you doing this?"

Kindness builds the bridge for the person to receive a touch of love from God. It's simple, practical, effective, inexpensive and fun!

We have regularly plan Servant evangelism events for our members to participate in at First Baptist Church. This is a very important part of our total evangelism strategy.

Jesus said “This is a large work I've called you into, but don't be overwhelmed by it. It's best to start small. Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won't lose out on a thing” (Matthew 10:42 – The Message). That is exactly what we will do on a Servant Evangelism Saturday. Plan on being a part of our church’s effort to give a “cup of cold water” to Portales in Jesus’ name.
