Youth Minister: Chris Horton

 

Chris has been working with teenagers for the last 12 years in various positions  and joined the staff of FBC in July of 2009. He is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University with a degree in History.   He is excited to be serving in his hometown of Portales. His philosophy of ministry is to connect teens with Jesus and send them out into the world as ministers and missionaries to reach their peers.

 

Chris loves to read a good book, watch his favorite movies, and is a huge sports fan. He is fond of coffee, his family, and hanging out with teens, not in that order!

 

He has been married to his college sweetheart, Amy, for 9 years and looks forward to the day he can celebrate his 60th wedding anniversary with her. They are blessed with two sons, Brett and Dylan, and one daughter, Ainsley. His goal in life is to spoil them rotten with love and attention.
